Trippin' back in our Hippie Days
Hi my name is Toby. Tobs for short. Me and Mom decided it would be fun to host a blog so we could share all of our wonderful adventures with you. Oh, by the way…. My Mom’s name is Shelly.
We see a lot of people traveling with their dogs these days and we wanted to give you some tips on how we travel. I would like to share with you all the wonderful places I get to go and how Mom takes care of us on our journey… She always says a well trained dog makes for a calm, happy dog. Maybe that is why I have a tag on my collar that says “I’m good!” I’m just sayin’.
Mom says it is really easy to travel everywhere with a dog when you have the right information available. Personally, I don’t understand why I can’t go into all of the places she goes. After all, I am only 8 pounds soaking wet and maybe if I’m lucky I might top off at 10” tall. I don’t shed, and we both think I am very well behaved, although sometimes Mom laughs and says at times that may be debatable!
The three words I dislike the most are “No Dogs Allowed” Well, there are a few more, such as No, Your Naughty, and Stay… but, I don’t hear those words much.
When we travel, Mom checks online to find places that I can visit with her. She is discovering that not every small business lists whether or not they are dog friendly! That frustrates her to no end…. at least that’s what she says. I don’t know what “to no end” means but she says it with a little growl so I know she’s frustrated, or maybe she just wants to play fetch…. I don’t know for sure.
Any way, Mom has decided to create a FREE directory of all the dog friendly places we visit. You know…. the restaurants with patio and deck seating where I can go, along with the B&B’s and other lodging facilities that will let me sleep there. Then there are the dog parks, vets, dog beaches, doggy boutiques and bakeries etc… We wanna tell you all about them so you’re not frustrated and can have more fun with your dog on your next vacation!
She and I think our FREE directory will be a great resource for dog travelers…. The goal of our directory will be to list all of our dog friendly resources in one place on the internet. Our directory will make it quicker and easier for you to find places to have fun with your dogs.
I know we are going to travel around a lot this summer, but before we leave I will spend some time telling you about our home town and a few of the surrounding towns here in Florida. I may even throw in a few stories from Alaska… I spent two summers there. Mom has spent 6 so she knows more than me so maybe I can get her to share a few of her own.
Florida is a great travel destination. We get tons of tourists here! Mom calls some of them snowbirds but I think she’s wrong… they are not birds! I know what a bird is! Her birds look like people to me… and besides that, they can’t even fly!
I would love for you to keep up with where we are and what we’re doing. Mom is going to take a lot of photos (a lot of them will be of me, of course!) There are a couple of things I think you should do…
